Together, my collaborators and I will reveal how current manifestations of these inspirations develop in our personal movement vocabulary. I will be creating a portfolio, in collaboration with 7 dancers, of writings, analysis’, pictures, and personal anecdotes of how our artistry has derived and been influenced.

As 21st century beings, we often find our time being split between many different avenues: school, passion projects, relationships, occupations and so on. All of these must separately fill a space in our day to allow us to feel whole. Sometimes though, when one aspect changes form in our life, everything else must shift before we feel that peace of wholeness again. This process of aligning and realigning is something we will never stop doing. What does it look like when you have to regain this sense of serenity from the ground up?

Am i even looking at or am i looking through… these conversations build, they accumulate and contribute to our inner landscape. how do I know the inner topography of the person I’m melding with? are we better together, apparently 2 is better than 1. not always

Alone, stuck in thoughts, imagination becomes a real version of the ideas manifested in one’s head. The isolation of only one energy can bring an internal chaos that lives deeper than what the eye can see. Mind shifts, mind games, and the dangers of the mind allow the imagination to run as free as they become.

In the Guise of Color is an on-going exploration of how color can be presented through movement, and Spectre Primaire is the first chapter of this exploration. Colors surround us. They are in our thoughts and are used to evoke emotion in the world around us. It is not often, however, that when we look upon them, we take the time to reflect on their significance in our lives. The colors red, yellow, and blue, are very different, and yet, when dancers embody them, they seem to fuse together and are humanized.

“Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory” - Theodor Seuss Geisel

This Screendance is centered around the memories & love of three individuals who are physically not able to be with each other. It is inspired from my relationship with my mom, Chandra, and my sister, Pascha. There are so many moments of unconditional love & memories in life and this piece is about remembering and reliving all of those moments.
